Mary Anne grew up working in her father's business, Leading Dairy in Lake Charles. She graduated from Iowa High School in 1956 and went on to attend McNeese State College. She was a Drum Major in both high school and college. She was a longtime member of St. Henry Catholic Church serving as an Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa for 45 years where she also taught Catechism. Mary Anne owned and operated the family business, Calcasieu Packing Company, along with her husband, John. She was an active member of Calcasieu Cattlewomen's Association for 48 years. She was also a member of MADD since 1982. Mary Anne spent a lifetime of giving to charities too numerous to name. Mary Anne was devoted to her church, Faith, and her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, John C. Guidry, and parents, Joe and Ruby Spears.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are three sons, John Scott Guidry and wife, Sue of Manchester, La., Victor Wayne Guidry and wife, Lana of Manchester, La, Joseph Carl Guidry and wife, Becky of Iowa, La.; a daughter, Carlene Guidry McCall and husband, Alan of Lake Charles, La; eleven grandchildren, Brandan Guidry, David Guidry, Matthew Guidry and wife, Caroline, Victor Guidry and wife, Rachael, Ali Gayhart and husband, Derrick, John Guidry, Joshua Guidry and wife, Ashley, Jana Hensgens and husband, Kyle, Jevin Guidry, Adam Kimball and Andrew Kimball; fourteen great-grandchildren, Amberly, Jadey, Ella, Kellie, Kayden, Tucker, Dallen, Gabe, Cooper, Lakyn, Joslyn, Rylan Tie, Peyton, and Presley; a great-great-grandchild, Elijah; sisters, Jo Nell Lauw and Linda Webb and husband, R.L. all of Manchester, La; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Lake Charles, La. Rev. Matthew Cormier will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, La. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m. Thursday with a Rosary at 6 p.m., and will resume from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, La.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Catholic Charites in Lake Charles, where Mary Anne volunteered.
