Mary Ann’s accomplishments in life were plentiful. She was a graduate of St. Charles Academy and McNeese State University. She led the St. Charles Debate Team and used her talents working with students at both Lake Charles High School and A.M. Barbe High School. Forever the educator, she taught life lessons and touched many lives with her wisdom. Mary Ann’s contributions to charities and her constant support of the community will not be forgotten. She was known for her generosity.
Survived by her husband of 47 years, Lanis James “Bud” Viator: daughters, Anna Catherine Viator: Joel Viator-Redd, her husband Matt and daughter Rachel, Mandy Viator-Carmosino and her husband Gordon: mother, Nellie Maxey: sister, Helen Jo Dominique: dear friend Mary Caesar.
Pallbearers are Bevo Rome, Terry Viator, Michael Paul Dominique, John Dominique, Matt Redd and Gordon Carmosino. She is preceded in death by her father, Otis Cranford “Toad” Maxey.
Mary Ann’s wishes were to thank everyone for the prayers and continuous support during her journey.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Cathedral Catholic Church. Services will begin at 2:30 Thursday with a Mass of Christian burial at 3 p.m. burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Lake Charles.
