Marie Thornton

She was born in Cameron near Monkey Island. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She worked for the Cameron Parish Council on Aging. She later moved to Monterey, LA to be near her daughter about 15 years ago. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Keith Carlson and wife Cindy of Lake Charles, Thomas Oldon Thornton and wife Joni of Moss Bluff, Todd Anthony Thornton and wife Sheila of Freeport, Texas; daughter, Kathy Leann T. Adams and husband James of Monterey; brother, Benny Bourg of Lake Charles; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 1great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Thornton and parents, Oldon Bourg and Lenora Constance Bourg.

Her funeral service will be 11am, Monday, December 23, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Father Goodly will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4pm until 8pm with a rosary at 6pm and resume Monday from 8am until time of service. Burial will follow the service at Consolata Cemetery.
