Margaret Virginia Nelson

Margaret was born in Bayou Chicot, LA and moved to Eunice at an early age where she graduated from Eunice High School and Vincent Business College in Lake Charles. She was a member of the Baptist faith. She loved family get togethers, vacationing, cooking, embroidering, sewing and going out to eat. She worked very hard raising and loving her seven children.

Margaret was the glue that kept our family together. She was the roots of our tree and we are her branches, her roots will live forever in our lives. Margaret had one of the biggest, strongest and kindest hearts out of anyone you would meet. The amount of compassion and love she extended towards others around her made her so special and unique.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Christon N. Nelson of LeBleu Settlement; son, Christon H. Nelson (Brenda) of Iowa; daughters, Kathleen Gautreaux (Frank) of Sulphur; Doris Armentor (Charles) of Moss Bluff; Margaret “Ginger” Pearson (Terry ) of Moss Bluff; Kristine Starkovich (Allen) of Lafayette; daughter-in-law, Dianne Nelson; thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sons, Dennis and Gary Nelson, great granddaughter, Chloe Nikolakopulos, and parents, Henry and Beulah Forman.

Pallbearers are Christon K. Nelson, Jeremy Gautreaux, Ryan Pearson, Gary Pearson, Justin Pearson and David Starkovich.

Her visitation will be 4:00pm until 9:00pm, Friday, September 9, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and resume Saturday at 10:00am until time of service. Service will be at 1:00pm, Saturday.
