Margaret graduated from Lake Charles High and Sophie Newcomb College, where she majored in English and History. She played tennis both in high school and college and continued to enjoy it as a sport for years at the Lake Charles Racquet Club.
Margaret married Bobby Boudreau and together they raised their two sons Brad and Bob.
Margaret was active in the community having been a member of the Lake Charles Junior League. She volunteered as a speaker for NAMI and would give in-services at Briscoe Rehabilitation. Margaret was a founding member of Krewe of Mystique, the first all women’s Mardi Gras Krewe.
She loved horse racing and was known for throwing “Derby Day” parties each year in celebration of the Kentucky Derby. Margaret and Bobby also enjoyed hosting Bastille Day Parties.
Margaret enjoyed going to movies, plays at Tulane summer Lyric Theater, playing cards with friends, and traveling. She especially enjoyed Paris and her beloved New Orleans. Her greatest joy came from watching Tulane’s Green Wave Football. Win or lose, she and Bobby cheered on the Green Wave, both in New Orleans as well as on the road. “Roll Wave” was not just a mantra; it was a way of life of Margaret and Bobby.
Margaret had a gentle nature and generous heart for animals and people in need. She was a loyal friend and was loved by many.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Juliet and Frank Field, and Sister Betty Field, her husband Bobby Boudreau, and her son Brad Boudreau. Margaret is survived by her son Bob Boudreau and sister-in law Patsy Boudreau Calhoun.
The family would like to thank her loyal sitters, Eugenie Tullos, Annette Thompson and Judy Moreau. Eugenia and Annette stayed day and night with her through her final days. Eugenie was her live in companion for 4 years showing so much compassion, love and faith.
Margaret and Bobby also had a personal friendship with Jeff Meaux who became like family to them.
Eugenie traveled with Margaret to plays in New Orleans or wherever she desired to go. We will never be able to express our eternal gratitude.
Thanks also to the wonderful staff at memorial Specialty Clinic. Thanks Dr. Ron Lewis and all her doctors who helped her through her many years of compassionate care.
