He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, born on August 26, 1928 to F.L. and Laura Miller. He was a 50 year member of the BAC from 1947-1997. His lifelong passion of following the LSU Tiger Football Team brought him and his family to many games in Tiger Stadium. When not watching LSU play, he loved to hunt and fish. He shared many moments with all his children passing on his knowledge and experiences of the outdoors, especially being quiet not to scare the fish. He coached all sports in little league and will be remembered by many youngsters who played baseball in the Mid City Lake Charles League. He was also a thorn in the side of the Vaunted Trinity Baptist “A” Team, as he continually baffled them at the plate with his wicked, slow pitch curve. Leon loved to bowl and was in several men’s leagues at both 2nd Avenue bowling lanes and at the Bowlarena on Hwy 14. He loved helping people and would do anything for anyone and he always answered “The Horn”.
