Junius Clobule Arabie, age 94, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Junius, known to those who loved him as "J.C." was born October 14, 1927 to parents Clobule and Alida Martin Arabie in Vinton, LA. He graduated from Vinton high School in 1945. J.C. served his country in the Merchant Marines and while enlisted married Annie McGee. They were married for 62 years until Annie's death. J.C. remarried to Betty Wolbrink on September 25th, 2010. She has loved and spoiled for the last 12 years of their lives together.
J.C. had many careers during his life. He farmed rice, cattle, operated a gas station, was a fireman for 20 years and he and Annie owned and operated J.C.'s Bargain store for 25 years. J.C. loved to garden and was known to carry around a bucket of vegetables that he offered to share with the public. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.
J.C. is welcomed into heaven by his parents; Clobule and Alida Arabie, first wife; Annie Arabie, four sisters; Gladys McGee,Geneva Johnson, Betty Felder, Una Savoie, and Isabelle Arabie, two brothers; Arthur Arabie and Roy Arabie, and one grandson; Richard Morris.
Those left to cherish J.C.'s memory are his wife; Betty Wolbrink Arabie, son; Brian Arabie and wife Cindy of Lake Charles, LA, daughters; Diane Morris and husband Roger of Euless, TX, Lorraine Morris and husband Mikel of Cleveland, TX, Rita Arabie of Hurst, TX, sister; Audrey Wallace and husband Jerry of New Iberia, LA, two step-sons; Brett Wolbrink and wife Sherry of Carlyss, LA, Brad Wolbrink and wife Sharon of Toledo Bend, LA, as well as 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers : Brett Arabie, Brian Browning Arabie, Gregory Morris, Jonathan Savage, Roger Morris and Lance Lakoski.
Services for J.C. will be held Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 in the Hixson Chapel of Peace at 3001 Ryan st. Lake Charles, LA, 70601. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 until the time of service at 2:00pm. John L. Vice will officiate.
Burial to follow funeral services at Black Bayou Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA.
