John Perry Boudreaux, 83, departed this life Monday, September 28, 2020 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana under the care of Lake Charles Care Center of Lake Charles. Perry, as he was affectionately known to all, was born on April 30, 1938 to Charles and Larica Boudreaux in Creole, LA. He was a lifelong resident of Cameron Parish residing in both Cameron and Creole.
Perry was an oilfield man. He was a previous owner of Exxon Gas Station in Cameron, an operator for many years at Cameron Construction Company, and retired after 25 years of service with Phillips 66.
Perry loved hunting, working cattle, music, dancing, and thoroughly enjoyed his adult beverages. He vacationed often with his grandkids and great-grandkids in his favorite getaway of Galveston, Texas. He was an ultimate “cutter” whether he was found “cutting cattle”, “cutting a rug”, or “cutting up” as the life of the party.
Perry married Elizabeth “Lizzy” Giles in 1956 and remained married for 58 years until her death in 2012. He was also preceded in death by their son, Darrin Boudreaux; his parents, Charles and Larica Boudreaux; and sister, Viola Bourriaque.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Gregory (Dolores) Boudreaux, Cindy (Phillip) Gayle, and Tressa (Tonya) Boudreaux; brother, Charles Bert (Betty) Boudreaux; grandchildren, Larica (Bryan) Trahan, Tiffany (Nick) Racca, Jared (Courtney) Savoie, Jennifer (Kevin) Saltzman, Joshua (Jessica) Savoie, Jed (Sarah) Savoie, and Joslyn Miller; 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The family will welcome friends Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am Friday, October 2, 2020 at Immaculate Conception with Father Tim Goodly officiating. Due to construction in Sulphur, it is recommended to use Beglis Pkwy exit to go to church.
He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Creole, LA. Graveside services will be set at a later date.
