I just wanted to let you all know how truly sorry we were to hear about Mr. Hensley.  I know he will be greatly missed by each of you.  I am so glad that Dustin and I had the opportunity to meet him years ago.  We both have very fond memories of him when we visited you all years ago at Uncle Ray's reunions.  We were both initially a little nervous the first time we met Mr. Hensley.  Larry had told us growing up stories about how strict he was.  And then to add to that, Mr. Hensley's quiet demeanor only made us both a little more intimidated,.....that is until the first time he made a firm comment with a stern face....and then broke into a smile, looking over at us out of the corner of his eye.  We knew then that Mr. Hensley was actually a very kind, sweet man.  And Mrs. Hensley, you had that warm, sweet face that made us instantly feel welcome and at home during our stay.  You are truly a special lady.  You were a blessing to Mr. Hensley and your family all of these years.  Such a wonderful wife and mother!  Please know that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers daily, and we love you all very much.

I will always treasure the memories I have of summer vacations spent in Louisiana with my Uncle Dewey.  It gives me joy to think of the time I will spend with him in heaven one day.  May God comfort and bless all those who are mourning the loss of this wonderful man, my uncle.

I had the privalege of serving the Lord with Bro. Dewey as his pastor for 20 years. He was a man of great integrity who loved his Lord, his family, his church, and God's word. Guess he even loved his pastor. We will truly miss one of the most respected giants I have known.

I met Bro. Dewey when 12th St. and Murray St. Baptist church deacons met to discuss a mearger between the two churches. He taught me to see what God wants more than what I want. Oh and dont sit in his chair.... :o) I Love You Mrs. Mary Jane we are praying for yall.

We will always remember Brother Dewey with a smile and an encouraging word. We sat on the pew in front of him for many years and joked that we couldn't concentrate if either of us was out of place. He was such a kind man! We will miss him!

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I know the grief you and your family are having.  My prayers are with you and your family and especially for your Mom.  I am encouraged by knowing of your father's faith.

Some of my fondest memories are of the Dewey Hensley family. I still miss you all very much. My deepest sympathy to you all.

Brother Dewey was like a real older brother to me. Words cannot express the loss of this giant of a man. He meant so much to me. I said when I got saved that "I want to grow up to be the kind of Man Brother Dewey is". I meant that then and it still holds up to be true today. To his family, I pray that God will continue to protect you and grant you comfort and peace during these times of sorrow. There is a party going on in heaven right now. Amen!
