Irma Jennifer Jacobs was born Feb.9, 1915 to Eli and Julie (Sepulvado) Leoni. Following a long and painful journey, Irma went to join her Lord and God, Jesus Christ, on March 25, 2012.
Funeral services will be handled by Hixson Funeral Home. A Rosary and visitation will start at 6PM on Tuesday March 27, 2012. Her Funeral Mass will be at 11AM Wednesday March 27, at St Margaret’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Leesville Cemetery on HWY 171 at 3PM.
Irma is survived by her two Daughters, Shirley (Ken) Magee and Patricia (Dan) Hurst. Irma has 8 Grandchildren: Mike (Kim) Magee, Louis (Lisa) Magee, Paul (Angie) Magee, Theresa (Keith) Gordan, Julie Davidson, Mark (Carie) Roy, Terry (Joan) Roy and Greg Roy.
She has 25 Great Grand Children and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren and 2 special nieces Mary Harding and Frances Moss and a nephew Gerry Woodall.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin W. Jacobs and a grandson, Gregory Jacob Roy.
Pallbearers are Mike Magee, Terry Roy, Louis Magee, Mark Roy, Paul Magee and Aaron Roy. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Magee, Robbie Magee, JC Magee, Clayton Magee, Andre Davidson, Nicholas Kraus, Wesley Roy, Ashton Roy and Thomas Breaux.
Irma was a member of St Margaret’s Church from 1963. She loved her church and the Lord she was faithful to.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters for 36 years and was in perfect attendance for 29 years. She served many roles: officer, Representing a Conventions and sitting on various committees. She was an avid fundraiser and loved making candy for the Calcasieu Festival. .
She was a member of the Altar Society for 34 years. She washed the Altar Boy robes and altar linens and served as a Eucharistic Minister for 24 years. She loved getting together with her friends to clean the church on Saturday mornings and to decorate the church for Christmas and Easter.
She was also a member of the Young at Heart group, the Come Lord Jesus Prayer group and the Follow Me Prayer Group. She was the recipient of Many Community and church Certificates for Appreciation.
The Family recommends donations to St Margaret Church or M D Anderson Cancer Research in lieu of flowers.
