Ida was born to parents John and Mae Mestepey on September 01, 1922, in Elizabeth, LA. She graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1940. She worked for a local bank in Lake Charles for her career. She was very active in her church and spent her free time volunteering at the University Methodist Church of Lake Charles.
Her youthful spirit will live on in her many nieces and nephews whom she spoiled with pizza parties and souvenirs from her many travels with friends and family. Ida enjoyed hearing live music, being among young folk, and being around animals, especially her late cat, Babydoll.
She is welcomed into heaven's gates by her parents; and her brothers, John B. Mestepey and James R. Mestepey.
Her memory will be fondly cherished by her nephews, John T. Mestepey of Coral Gables Florida, Michael G. Mestepey of Santa Monica California, William R. Mestepey of Coral Gables, Florida, Todd P. Mestepey of Witchita, KS, and Ryan J. Mestepey of Houston, TX; Her nieces, Susanne M. Fuchs of Katy, Tx, Marie M. Poirier of Houston, TX, Julie A. Morin of Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Ruby Mestepey; as well as a host of great nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Resthaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care given to Ida over the years in their care.
The family would like to invite friends to 3001 Ryan St. Lake Charles, LA. for visitation on June 24, 2023, beginning at 12 pm in the Chapel of Peace until the time of service at 2 pm.
A graveside service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, LA.
