He was born in Eunice and lived in Lake Charles and Moss Bluff most of his life. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff and previously was a charter member of 12th Street Baptist Church. He served as an usher and Sunday school teacher. He was a retired Drilling Supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Co. He loved his horses. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Faye DeRouen of Holmwood, LA and Vickie Seymour and husband, A.J. of Moss Bluff; brother, Leland Cormier of Welsh, LA; sisters, Agnes Stelly of Houston, TX and Merella Breaux of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Joleen Treadway of Lake Charles, Billie Henry of Lake Charles, Patricia Rader of Billings, Montana and Jay Howard Seymour of Lafayette, LA; 8 great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be 11am, Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Reverend John Vice and Reverend Don Johnson will officiate. Visitation will begin Friday 4pm-8pm and resume Saturday 8am until service time. Burial will be in Hayes Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
