She was born in Jennings, Louisiana and had been a longtime resident of Westlake. Gwen loved playing bingo, watching football, cooking, and making her famous fudge. She cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her lunch dates with her niece, Dana.
Survivors include her children, Michael Duhon and wife, Krissy of Westlake, Amanda Carrier and husband, Michael of Sulphur, Shannon Royer of LeBleu Settlement, and Ashley Royer of Westlake; her siblings, Jerry Duhon of Elton, Howard Duhon, Jr. of Lake Charles, Judy Fontenot Chapman of Sulphur, and Mona Fontenot of Sulphur; and her grandchildren, Maci, Marli, and Kole Duhon, Brock Buxton, Tristin and Brody Morgan, and Kylor and Krystlee Carrier; two great-nieces who called her MawMaw, Brianna Racca and Kay Matte; and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Louis Royer; her parents, Howard Duhon, Sr., Frances "Lou" Duhon Fontenot, and Delson Pierre Fontenot; a brother, Larry Duhon, Sr.; a grandchild, Kaigan Royer, nephew, Jason Duhon; and a niece, Casey Duhon.
