He was a longtime member of Westlake United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and was extremely proud of his military service. During WWII he worked in building the Ledo Road that connected the old Burna Road to China, He also built several hospitals in India. He was a member of the VFW post 407 in Westlake, where he served as executive board member for over 30 years. He was the owner of D&M Construction Company and built several schools and businesses in and around Calcasieu parish.
Mr. Davidson leaves to cherish his memory, numerous family members and friends. He is survived by his daughters, June Hein of Baton Rouge, LA, Kathryn Robicheaux and husband Andrew of Groves, TX, Dyanne Parrish of Westlake, LA, and Renee Rogers and husband Denny of Shreveport, LA.; Step-son, Douglas Young of Lake Charles, LA; Grand Children, Leslie Fellman, Mark Trouille and wife Renay, Trey Fellman, Richard Parrish Jr., John Potter, Brittney Rogers, Brock Rogers, Nicolette Rogers, and Trey Rogers; Great-Grandchildren, Kyle Sweat, Cortlyn Beenen, Ava Phelps and Richard "Tripp" Parrish III.
Mr. Davidson is preceded in death by his parents, John Arnold Davidson and Lillian Mae Clark Davidson, his wife Jane Denmon Davidson; Sisters, Lena Wattigney, Nola Heath, Sis Buteaud, Adele Breaux, Bernice Davidson, Ola Mae Moreland, Beaulah Longnion, Elender Longnion; Brothers, Johnny Davidson, Ollie Davidson, Buddy Davidson, Eddie Davidson, Melvin Davidson and JC Davidson; and granddaughters, Trisha Phelps and Chelsea Rogers.
His funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23rd 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Betty Northern will officiate. Burial will be in Orange Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22nd from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Wednesday, May 23rd from 8 a.m. until time of service.
