

She was born in Oilton, Oklahoma on December 31 1918, the daughter of Maude Kathryn Gregory and Festus Delano Beeson. Her father moved the family from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in June 1927 to Dallas, Texas after the death of her mother. Her father died in September 1929. She graduated from North Dallas High School in June 1937 and attended Metropolitan Business School in Dallas. She was employed by Sanger Bros. Department Store from September 1937 to August 1944. She then moved from Dallas to Houston, Texas where she was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad Co. from August 1944 to August 1977 when she retired and moved to Lake Charles, LA where she married Frank B. Newcomer, JR. on August 20, 1977. Mr. Newcomer died on January 18, 2002. She sold their home in Lake Charles and moved to Granbury, Texas in September 2002 to be near her nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John Lee and Ernest Delano Beeson, both of Dallas; her sisters, Mrs. Adele B. Raub of Tulsa, OK, Mrs. Helen B, Phillips of Mesa, AZ and Mrs. Jo B. Anderson of Lake Charles, LA; her niece, Yvonne r, Adams of Lake Buchanan, TX and nephews, Dr. R.R. (Tom) Raub of Bluefield, West Virginia and Lawrence Max Philips of Garland, TX.
She is survived by step-daughter, Mrs. Linda N. Thomas of Bogalusa, LA; two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; niece, Mrs. Kitty B. Hitt of Quinlan, TX, Mrs. Toni B, Herrington of Dallas, TX and Albert Errol Phillips of Sunnyvale, TX; great niece Mrs. Adele A. McCuiston of Granbury, TX and Mrs. Jennie P. Torrison of Garland, TX; great nephews, Max Phillips of Garland, J R. Phillips of Sherman, TX; William Adams of Schertz, TX and Charles H. (Jim) Adams of San Antonio, TX as well as numerous other great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive family and friends Friday from 5pm to 9pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and resume Saturday 10am until service time at the church. Service will be held 11am, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Luke’s Simpson United Methodist Church. Interment will follow immediately at Highland Memory Gardens.
