Della was a wonderful mother who loved and adored her children and she enjoyed catering to all of them. She attended Church of Christ and was very active in the church; she was involved in the choir and the Sunday school department. Della was a hard worker; she worked and retired from Sears, after retirement she worked as a cashier at Piccadilly for several years. She enjoyed cooking and baking, she was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed music, her family and she truly loved her life and the people in it, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed greatly.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; Raphael and Alice Devillier, her husband;Cless Clarence McGee, two half brothers; Mitchell Stevens and David Stevens, one half sister; Earline and one daughter; Elaine Stegall.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters; Betty Jane(BJ) LeDoux of Lake Charles and JoAnn Sexton of Knoxville, TN, two sons; Dr. James McGee and wife Faye of Lake Charles, LA and Daniel McGee of Lake Charles, La, fourteen grandchildren; James Ivory, Denise Hebert and husband Sam, Casey McGee and wife Daphana, Kelly Chaconas and husband Dr. John Chaconas, Stacey Wheat and husband James, all of Houston, TX, Sharon Wall and husband Raymond of Nashville, TN, Becky Vardell and husband Don of New Hampshire, Nicole Medlin and husband Mark, Chris McGee and wife Beth, Shauna Namie and husband Myers all of Lake Charles, LA, Dr. Lisa Adcock and husband David of Conroe, TX, Sandra Miller and husband Ryan of Shreveport, LA, Cynthia Stegall, John Stegall and wife Rhonda of Kinder, LA, along with 30 great- grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles from 5:00pm-8:00pm and will resume on Thursday from 9:00am until the time of service.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 14, 2015 10:00am at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA with a burial following at Black Bayou Cemetery.
