On February 7, 2024, 8 days from her 79th birthday, one of Louisiana's finest southern belles departed this life. Cheryl Ann Walsh White was the perfect blend of sugar and spice, and everything nice. To the world, she was a wife, mother, and grandmother, but to her family, she was the world.
She was a friend to everyone and a stranger to no one. She loved unconditionally. She was a perfect lady; her class, southern drawl, and beautiful smile could light up any room. As an accountant for many years, she placed great importance on high credit scores, high morals, and high heels. She had strong Baptist roots, a Pentecostal experience, and a legacy of powerful preachers as a result of her devotion to God.
Born on February 15, 1945, Cheryl was the oldest of four siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Maxine Walsh; her two brothers, Robert and Michael Walsh; her sister, Karla Brown; and her niece, Melissa Cannon. She is survived by her husband and best friend, William White; her two daughters, Julie Young and husband Tracy, Melinda Szumanski and husband Timothy; her six grandsons including Taylor Young and wife Calen, Payton Young and wife Brooke, David Young, Dylan Szumanski, Colyn Szumanski, and Ethan Szumanski; her three cousins, Kim Culotta Stewart, Beverly Shaffer, and Karen Lee Stubbs; and her niece Amanda Walsh.
