Charles R. McBride Jr.

He was involved in Christian Service at Trinity Baptist Church and later at Sale Street Baptist Church. He retired from Firestone after 40 years of service. He enjoyed playing golf with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 37 wonderful years, Ava Jo McBride of Lake Charles; sons, Charles R. McBride III and wife Annette of Lake Charles, Clyde McBride and wife Gwen of Beaumont; Cliff Hazel of Texas; daughters, Carolyn McConathy and husband Larry of Houston; Peggy Dees and husband Mike of Lake Charles; brother, Bill McBride; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Lee McBride in 1973, his parents and a brother.

His service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and resume Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
