Carrie Rosa Prescott

Carrie Rosa Manuel Prescott joined her cherished husband and Lord in heaven on January 19, 2014, at the age of 94. (Born May 9, 1919.) Carrie was a Marine Corps wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A selfless person, she cared for her home-bound husband, Adrien Nelson Prescott, for many years preceding his death. Carrie cherished her family, especially her five grand children and thirteen great grand children. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S and overseas. She was an avid Boure and Pokino player and looked forward to her regular card groups. A very faith-filled Roman Catholic, Carrie was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was the anchor of the family and will be greatly missed.

Carrie Prescott leaves behind her son, Maurice Prescott and wife JoAnn of Lake Charles; daughter, Jerry Prescott Ingraham and husband Chuck of Diamondhead, Miss; sisters, Rose Long of Lantana,Tex; Leanna Manuel of Lake Charles; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrien Prescott; parents, Henry and Elenor Manuel; brothers, Dominique, Abram, Henry, Curl, Maurice and James Manuel and sister, Hazel Manuel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014, at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and resume Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.
