Blane worked the water ways for over 40 years. Starting out as a deck hand with his father and worked his way up to captain for the last 30 years. He held numerous certifications and was highly respected on his job. He loved his crew and was loved by his crew. Blane was an avid cook, music lover, and a cowboy at heart. He loved his children, grandchildren, and his family more than anything. Blane loved to study the Word of God and longed to see his son again in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Broussard, son, William Chase Broussard, and father, Jessie Broussard, Sr.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his mother, Yvonne Broussard of Lake Charles; daughters, Kayla Broussard, Jamie Kulick and husband, Jarrett, Crystal Broussard and husband, D.J. all of Lake Charles; brothers, Doug Broussard and wife, Josette of Westlake, Jesse Broussard, Jr. and wife, Bettina of Longville, Johnny Broussard and wife, Cynthia of Lake Charles, and Gene Reese and wife, Lenora of Big Lake; sisters, Melinda Broussard, Rhonda Mareno both of Lake Charles, and Linda Brinton of St. Petersburg, Florida; seven grandchildren and one on the way; two great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Rev. Gary Eavers and Rev. Ray Hundley will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation will be held 5-9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
