Betty Jane Manuel

Betty Jane Manuel, 89, of Lake Charles, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 in Lake Charles. She was born to her late parents, James and Adez McComb on June 17, 1932 in Kaplan, LA. She was very active in her church, Community Christian Church for many years. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, fishing, bowling, quilting, gardening, and being with the love of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Calvin Manuel; children, Dennis Manuel (Patty) of Moss Bluff, Vallie Manuel Guillory (Cornelius) of Westlake, Connie Manuel Coco of Lake Charles, Pansy Manuel Gabbard Marsiglia (Samuel) of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren, Danny Manuel, David Manuel, Adam Manuel, Laura Manuel, Monica Comeaux, Jason Guillory, April Coco, Daniel Coco, Michael Coco, Bradley Gabbard; fifteen great grandchildren, Gage Manuel, River Manuel, Dillan Manuel, Wyatt Gavitt, CJ Manuel, Lochlan Broussard, Chloe Guillory, Summer Guillory, Zayne Coco, Allie Hanson, Carl Coco, Johnathan Coco, Reid Coco, Grace Link-Gabbard, Gabrielle Link-Gabbard, Bailee Gabbard, and Cullen Gabbard.

Betty is preceded in death by two children, George Bruce Manuel & Christopher Layne Manuel; one brother, Joseph Willis McComb; two sisters, Anna Flood and Mildred Bergeron; one grandson, Justin Manuel; and two son-in-laws, Jack Farquhar & Danny Lee Gabbard.

A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 2:00pm, with Bro. Dave Lang officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Black Bayou Cemetery.
