She was born in Lake Charles, LA on April 1, 1947. She was a proud graduate of the Lake Charles High School Class of 1965. She earned a B. S. degree from Texas Christian University, and a masters degree from the University of Southwest Louisiana. She worked as a bridal shop seamstress for several years before moving to Damascus, VA, where she and her husband John Reese ran the Apple Tree Bed & Breakfast. She returned to Lake Charles after Johns' death and later married Howard Campbell.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, square dancing, researching genealogy and traveling around the world.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gyrthel "T" & Wayne Robertson; her step-mother, Vivian Robertson; and her 1st husband, John Reese.
Those left to cherish her memories include her beloved husband, Howard Wayne Campbell; her sister Margaret Fullington and husband Michael; her nieces, Erin Richard and husband Joshua, Elaine Genna and husband Jason; her stepdaughter, Cher Eaves and husband Tommy; daughters-in-law Juanita Reese and Wife Sara; daughter-in-law Waynette Pierce and husband Ronnie; sons-in-law James Marlin Blanchette and Maelon Campbell; and numerous other friends and relatives.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home Friday, August 2, 2024 from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation will resume Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 9am until final viewing at 10:20am. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael Episcopal Church at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions made to St. Michael Episcopal Church, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
