He was born in Rayne, LA and lived in Westlake. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a life member of Post 2130. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart being wounded on Omaha Beach during the D-Day invasion. He was a taxi driver in 1947 until he opened his own dry cleaning business in 1952. Mr. Breaux retired from PPG and also a longshoreman at the Port of Lake Charles for many years. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and loved cooking. He was a part of a great generation.
He is survived by his sons, Richard Breaux of Lake Charles and Jerry Breaux and wife, Mary of Ozark, MO; daughters, Rena Gail LeJeune and husband, Arthur of Westlake, Jackie Goodeaux and husband Kevin of Ragley and Jennifer Montgomery and husband, Victor of Lake Charles; brother, Orford Breaux of Lake Charles; sisters, Lorraine Landry of Welsh and Iris Toups of MS; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be 1pm, Saturday, January 20, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. His son, Bro. Jerry Breaux will officiate. Visitation will begin 2pm-9pm Friday with a rosary at 6pm and resume Saturday 8am until service time. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
