Arnold Wayne Fontenot, Sr. 79, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 7, 2022, following his final, bravely fought, battle with cancer. Arnold was married to the late Marie Lannin Fontenot for 58 years.
Arnold owned and operated Maxson’s Bait Stand for 7 years and Maxson’s Torginal Seamless Flooring for over 30 years. He was a man of many talents; building many houses for family as well as making repairs for anything that came up within his family. You could ask anything of him and he was there to lend a hand.
Deer hunting and camping consumed many winters in his household and he passed that legacy down to his sons and grandsons. LSU games were a must watch in the house, unless they played at naptime (nothing interfered with naptime).
Those left to cherish his memory are his three children Arnold Wayne Fontenot, Jr. (Carlene), Michael Fontenot (Jodi), and Kelly Fontenot; grandchildren Collin Fontenot, Alex Fontenot, Jeannette Fontenot, McMichael Fontenot, Cheyenne Dimmitt, Dakota Dimmit, and Adrianne Turner; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Rayburn Fontenot (Gail) and Max Fontenot and as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Monday, May 9, 2022 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be immediately following at Highland Memorial Park.
