Alice Joyce Thompson, age 77, of Hayes passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. She was born on May 26, 1938 in Hayes, Louisiana to Alsee Joseph and Mary Alicia Trahan O’Blanc. Alice was a member of the Ladies Alter Society and member of the Choir at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She was an amazing cajun dancer and caregiver. Alice loved to have coffee everyday with everyone at 3:00pm, she also loved to sew, crochet, bake, cook and Hank Williams, Sr., But she especially loved spending time with her family.
Alice is survived by her son, Glen (Rhonda) Thompson of Hayes, her daughter Karen Orsot of Hayes, her grandchildren, Alicia (Dustin) Ratliff of Grand Lake, Sara and Madeline Thompson of Hayes and Cade Hitt of Sunset, her great grandchildren Austin and Bryce Ratliff of Grand Lake, her brother Clifton (Elaine) O’Blanc of Evangeline, her sisters Rita Mae (Wallace) Nunez of Bell City and Hilda (Gerald) Landry of Lacassine, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alsee Joseph and Mary Alicia Trahan O’Blanc, her daughter Catherine Alicia Thompson, her brother and his wife Wilbert and Lena Mae Conner and son in law Richard Orsot.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 9:30am – 10:30pm at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City, Louisiana. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30am in the church and A Funeral Mass Celebrating Alice’s life will immediately follow the Rosary, at 11:00am. Father Emanuel Tenu will officiate. Burial of Alice’s cremains will follow at Hayes Cemetery in Hayes.
