Ronald Jay Jones

Ron was born on December 11, 1949, in Middletown, OH, to John and Amanda Jones. He attended Union College in Barbourville, KY, and later received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Louisville. Ron proudly served in the United States Army as a military police officer stationed in Germany before returning to be stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. He then joined the Army National Guard and spent many years stationed out of Fort Knox, KY where he served as a training officer to the next generation. He retired from the National Guard as a Master Sergeant in 1995.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Mary; his children Mamie (Corey) Finewood, Mandy Jones (Troy Richard), Michelle (Jimmy) Schwarz, DJ (Shelby) Jones and Justin Jones; and his six grandchildren Madison, Alexis, Cooper, Clark, Barry and Elena; five siblings Charlotte, Sharion, Jerry, Johnnie and Sherry. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Amanda Jones, and his brother Donnie Jones.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange, KY. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM before the service.

Ron was a proud husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, but most especially he was a proud Veteran of the United States.
