He was born to the late Chalmay II and Henrietta (Goodwin) McClain in Louisville on April 19, 1952.
Mike was baptized at Van Buren Baptist Church on Story Ave. He was a pillar in the concrete industry where he had many friends and affectionately called him the "Mayor" or "Old Man". He enjoyed riding horses and truck pulling with John Rankin. Mike was an avid UK Basketball fan but he was an even bigger fan at his grandkids' sporting events!
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Lynn McClain; and siblings, Chalmay McClain III and Geraldine Grigsby.
Left to cherish the memory of Mike are his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann McClain; daughters, Stephanie Boyd (Chris) and Jamie Edgar (Jeremy); grandchildren, Coleton and Vance Boyd and Lori, Harper, and Jackson Edgar; sister, Maxine McClain; extended family and friends.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 7pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange with visitation from 4pm until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to Hosparus Health in Mike's memory.
