On Nov 9, 1961 Kathy Sue entered our lives.  She was the first baby in 8 years and the first girl in more than 12.  At first I was a bit jealous, then she wrapped her tiny hand around my finger and I was hooked.  Literally and figuratively
Hooked. Due to the circumstances of her birth, we all did an incredible job of loving her and an even better job of spoiling her, for which we paid the price of having a very strong willed and often quite bratty child.  Then she had the audacity to grow up and become the most mature, loving, humble adult. She dedicated her life to raising and educating the most amazing children. She and Tim put everything into giving their children every opportunity and advantage they could.  Because she homeschooled the kids, she made sure the kids were involved in many church and community activities. Often the kids would attain honors in their activities but you wouldn’t hear bragging from Kate. I’m so proud of her.  Tim and she raised a stellar family. Their efforts will live on in Samantha, TJ, Ben, Ethan, Daniel, Olivia, Jacob and Luke, the grandchildren and generations to come.

Kathy and family has been our next door neighbor and friend for a very long. She was always such a blessing!! 
Great memories were made with her from babysitting our boys ,to sharing chats at the kitchen table and  and so much more!!  Her commitment to the church and Lord were undeniable and  strong. She will  be greatly missed by all. Praying for the whole family!

Kathy was a very close childhood friend of mine. We grew up from elementary to high school in the same neighborhood. Our close knit neighbors were our family growing up. Even though we did not see each other much in later years I  often thought of Kathy.  I always cherished our friendship and her big heart.

This makes me so very sad to see this ! Kathy and I were best friends in high school ! Her birthday is two days after mine ! She was a kind soul! Loved her dearly 

Kathy was our 3rd  cousin. Jim and our mom  Audrey Sheldon Emery were cousins. She and I were the same age, went to to school together and got married the same year. She was always so fun and a sweetie. I'm very saddened to hear of her passing. I haven't seen or talked to her in a few years. We had so much fun growing up. 

I know this is a very difficult time for each of you.  Your wife and mom was so sweet.  I loved the times we would get to chat as we ran into each other at church or the grocery.  As hard as this is we know that she is in the sweet arms of Jesus, resting in peace and love.   One day we will get to join those we love and rejoice in our victory.  Until then I pray God will wrap each of you in His loving arms, comfort you and heal your hearts until He comes.

We are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Southard's passing.  She was everywhere and always willing to lend a hand or volunteer.  She loved God and her family and certainly led by example. Sadly we only met Kathy a handful of times but it was clear to see she was a strong woman with warmth and love in abundance and this is reflected in her beautiful family. We will be forever grateful for the super welcome she gave all our family for Jake and Jess’ wedding. We were really looking forward to spending more time together in the future which has sadly been cut so short. Our deepest condolences to Tim and all the family in this difficult time, from everyone in Jersey. Kathy may you rest in peace ♥️

The very first memory I have of Kathy was when Patrick and I first got married, she had given us such thoughtful, loving gifts and I was taken back by this gesture as she hadn’t even met me yet. I was always touched by that generous act and always had the impression that that’s the kind of woman Kathy Southard is. She loves you before she knows you. Kathy was one of the most gentle and kind person I have known.  She was an amazingly devoted woman to her family and church.   I know she will be dearly missed! ♥️

I’ve known Kathy since I was about 10 years old and she started dating my brother, Tim. Only a few years older, she seemed much more mature,  and wiser than I. She would often practice her beautician skills on my hair and face. She’s been my big sister ever since and has left a legacy of kind, wise, wonderful children who I know will be taking good care of their dad in the difficult  days to come. 

She was the most loving and caring woman I had ever met. She took me in when my own home life wasn't great and treated me like one of her own children. I'll always remember her kindness and compassion. She was the most fun to work with during VBS and way always so encouraging.
