Jack Larry “Sugar Bear” “Sug” Cleary, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. The son of the late Virgil and Cora Mae Cleary, Jack was born Sunday, December 12, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jack grew up in Kentucky and moved back to Indianapolis about 17 years ago. While living in Kentucky, he worked as a forklift driver for Kintec, retiring in 2006 after 29 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
After the death of his first wife, Betty Jo (Lewis) Cleary, he met Phyllis and they were married Easter weekend, Saturday, April 10, 2004. Other survivors include children, Billy Joe Cleary of Greenfield, IN, Ronald Kilburn, Timothy Kilburn and Richard Kilburn all of Carmel, IN, Jeannetta Kimberlin of Bedford, KY, Glenna Daugintis of Tampa, FL and Darlenna Reynolds of Morgantown, KY; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife and parents, Jack was preceded in death by son, Bill Kilburn; brothers, Terry Cleary, Virgil Cleary, David Cleary, Billie Ray Cleary and Ronnie H. Cleary; sisters, Patty Jo Cleary and Sally Ann Page.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, where Deacon Ron Johnson will conduct funeral services at 2:00 p.m.
Addition visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 West Jefferson Street, LaGrange, KY, where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange, KY.
