George Ramirez, 36, of LaGrange, KY, passed away on March 10th, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 22nd, 1988. George was a devoted husband to Laken and a loving, and dedicated father to Soren.
George was born and raised in Chicago, and he moved to Indiana to attend school. Indiana is where he met his future wife, Laken. In 2018 her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and when Laken asked to move to Kentucky to help care for her, George didn’t hesitate to say yes. George had become close with Laken’s grandmother. In May George began his career as a correctional officer at Kentucky State Reformatory. Her grandmother passed in 2020, and 2 months later in April they found out that they were pregnant with Soren, George was over the moon excited to be a father. They just knew that Soren was sent from Heaven. He loved being a father, he was loving, caring, supportive, encouraging, devoted to ensuring that Soren was always safe and had absolutely everything he ever needed and wanted. Soren was very well cared for, because daddy made sure of it. He ensured Laken had anything she needed, and never hesitated to get it. He showered his family with gifts and loved to surprise them. George was a family man, and always put his family first, and putting himself last. He also made sure to catch up with his family in Chicago, talk about life and to check in with them.
George’s favorite time spent was with Soren and Laken. He loved to take them swimming, because it’s something that Soren loved to do. They spent many summer days in the pool. Playing with Soren, letting him jump all over him, hugging him and giving him kisses, and singing him songs that he made for him.
George was a devout Christian and was not afraid to express that. He was honest, and not willing to hold back his thoughts, and only asked for the same in return. He was man who helped others whenever he could. He was the man others could go to if they needed help with anything. He was a hard worker. He enjoyed playing jokes on others, and seeing their reactions to them. The best friend anyone could have. He cared deeply. He was so excited to continue building his life with his family and many plans for their future.
