Saturday evening, July 26, 2014, Donald Ray “Jeff” Jeffries, LaGrange, entered into eternal rest with his loving family nearby. Jeff was born on September 11, 1948, to Beulah and Samuel Jeffries of Westport, Kentucky. He was of the Baptist faith.
Jeff served his country honorably in the US Army during the Viet Nam conflict. He was stationed in Germany with a concentration in missiles.
His career included employment at the Hobart Corporation in Louisville. He retired after 28 years of dedicated service to the Dean Milk Company. An avid fisherman, a gifted mechanic, farmer and an individual having other talents too numerous to list, he was a friend that always worked hard to help others in need.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rayda Webster Jeffries (LaGrange); his beloved son, Donald Jason Jeffries (daughter-in-law,Tovah); grandson, Carter David (all of LaGrange); brother, John Orville Jeffries (LaGrange); mother-in-law, Ella Belle Webster (LaGrange); his faithful pal, Boomer; the Kentucky Farm Bureau family and a host of friends. He was predeceased by one sister, Mabel Jean Jeffries.
Visitation: 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, 311 West Jefferson Street, LaGrange, KY.
Funeral Services: At 11:00 AM,Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Fitzgerald, Sulphur Baptist Church conducting, assisted by Pastor Earl Wayne Perry, Sligo Baptist Church. Burial at the Sulphur cemetery in Henry Country.
The family requests that any memorial donations be sent to the Sulphur Baptist Church, Sligo Baptist Church, the Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, Wayside Mission, or to St. Vincent DePaul.
