He was born to the late Alfred and Geneva Perkins Dickens on November 12, 1950 in Campbellsville, KY.
Doug retired from the United States Postal Service in Louisville where he was a city carrier for many years. He served in the United States Navy from 1970-1974. Doug loved baseball and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Left to cherish the memory of Doug are his wife of 28 years; Janice Burton Dickens, son; Christopher Dickens, step-son; Ronnie Stephens (Vicki), step-grandchildren; Parker Stephens, Amy Norton (Chuck), and Kelli Hawkins (Johnny), siblings; Larry Dickens, Wanda Washburn (Ronald) and Timmy Dickens, extended family and friends.
A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Doug will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 1-3pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY with Navy honors being performed at 3pm.
Memorial donations can be made in Doug's name to the Humane Society of Oldham County.
