Susan Delene Barnes

Susan was born February 17, 1957 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late George Edward Bishop and Barbara June Bishop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine DeLong.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ronald “Ronnie” Wesley Barnes; son, Jason Barnes; daughter, Wendy (Mike) Kleinmeyer; grandson, Cameron Kleinmeyer; brothers, Charles (Patricia) Bishop, Bobby (Brenda) Bishop; sister, Lynn (Steve) Morgan and several nieces and nephews.

Susan was the person that just loved life. She loved to travel seeing new places and making new friends. She was the one that never met a stranger. She was a devoted wife to Ronnie, a devoted mother to Jason and Wendy, and the best “Mimi” to her grandson Cameron. Callaway Baptist Church and the entire church family were very special to her; it was her home. She loved to work, serve and worship there every week. She also loved her career and spent about 20 years working and serving at LaGrange Eye Clinic. Susan will certainly be missed by so many, but we all are grateful for the memories and legacy she leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M Friday, September 8, 2023 at Callaway Baptist Church in LaGrange, Georgia. The Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Callaway Baptist Church.
