Mr. William was born September 29, 1959 in LaGrange, GA, son of the late Earnest Eve Williams and Virginia Elizabeth Gilbert Williams. He attended Bartley Road Church of Christ and was formerly employed with O.S.I Sealants as a nuclear welder and electrician. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Skylar McKeen. Mr. Williams was the husband of Melinda Jo Kelley Williams who also passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 in Opelika, AL.
Survivors include his daughter, Tiffany McKeen of Hogansville, GA; step son, Eric Kelley of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Haley Michelle Williams, Victoria Leigh Kelley, and Patrick Brody Kelley; two sisters, Paula Denise Harrington of Opelika, AL and Martha Dean Waldroup and her husband, Ken, of LaGrange; one brother, Donald Ray Williams; mother-in-law, Connie Kelley of LaGrange; two sisters-in-law, Melanie Faith Kelley of LaGrange and Sherri Cunningham and her husband, Ben, of Jacksonville, AL; one brother-in-law, Richard Lee “Chip” Kelley, II and his wife, Kay, of LaGrange; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Steven Amos Williams and his wife, Melinda Jo Kelley Williams, will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Frank Barnes, Sid Smith, and Reverend Dennis Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his sister, Dean Waldroup, and will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
