Mr. Baker was born May 6, 1930 in Madison, WI, son of the late J. Stewart Baker and Lola M. Newell Baker. He had lived in LaGrange since 1980 and was a veteran proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Baker was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was employed with Butler Building Manufacturing before retiring and later worked for West Georgia Medical Center as the shuttle bus driver. Mr. Baker was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley H. Baker of LaGrange, GA; sister, Joanne (Bailey) Livesey of Ossining, NY; children, Michael Baker of Peoria, IL, Katherine (Steven) Thornton of Pekin, IL, John (Diana) Greaney of Farmington, New Mexico, Thomas (Sandra) Greaney of Austin, TX, Catherine G. (Kelly) Darda of LaGrange, GA, Michael G. (Patricia) Greaney of New Orleans, LA, and Genaide G. (Bob) Kilduff of Redondo Beach, CA; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Tim Gadziala officiating. Following the funeral service, the gathering of family and friends will be at the home of Tina and Keith Ussery, 156 Ramp Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 200 Lafayette Parkway, LaGrange, GA 30240.
