Mr. King was born June 10, 1942 in LaGrange, GA to the late Willie Lee King, Jr and Arline Edith Bledsoe Wright. After a number of years, he retired from Milliken and Company as a Mechanic / Fixer and finished his work tenure at Piggly Wiggly. Mr. King was born and raised Baptist, joining Baptist Tabernacle and later Bible Baptist. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and spending time on the water. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean King; son, Randall Lane King; grandson, T.J. Bledsoe; and brother, C.L. King.
Survivors include his sons, Dennis King, Wayne (Tina) King, Mike (Gina) King, Micky (Brook) King, Ricky King, Tim (Tambra) Bledsoe, Eric Bledsoe; brother, Tommy (Aboungleen) King; 30 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. The Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00am Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Striffler-Hamby Chapel with Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Phillip A. King.
