Mrs. Oleeta Hurst Aspinwall

Oleeta was born October 29, 1929 in Worth County, GA to the late Robert E. Lee Hurst and Clara Lucille Bryan Hurst.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. AJ Aspinwall; son, Dr. Keith Aspinwall and sister, Jeanette Loretta Hurst Kent.

She is survived by sons, Charles Kenneth Aspinwall, Dr. Jim Robert Aspinwall (Renae) and Jerry Scott Aspinwall (Debbie); daughters-in-law, Rebecca Aspinwall and Tiffany Aspinwall; grandchildren, Chaz Aspinwall (Cory), Allison Cottew (Nathan), Thomas Aspinwall (Crystal), Bryan Aspinwall, Renee Peters (GR), Brittney Miranda (Carlos), Andrew Aspinwall, Faith Choi (Joseph) and Christian Aspinwall (Challie); fifteen great-grandchildren, relatives and dear friends.

AJ and Oleeta opened Aspinwall Chiropractic Clinic in 1951.They worked side by side serving the community, and it quickly became her heart and she would take any opportunity to tell anyone about the benefits of chiropractic care.

Oleeta most enjoyed playing and teaching the game of bridge. There are many people in this community who still play who were taught by her.

She was also a passionate advocate of conservative values leading her to the Republican Party. She was past president of the Troup County Republican Women and went on to become an alternate delegate for Ronald Reagan in 1980.

She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church for 72 years serving on multiple committees.

One of her greatest joys was having a condo on the beach to share with her children and grandchildren building memories and to play innumerable bridge games with friends. Her zeal for life and ability to spread joy and encouragement to everyone will be missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA. The Gathering of Family and Friends will take place 1:00 P.M to 2:00 P.M prior to the service on Tuesday. The burial will take place after the service at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in LaGrange, GA.

Oleeta will be laid to rest in Restlawn Memory Gardens, LaGrange, Georgia.
