Mrs. Mangram was born June 28, 1929 in Chambers County, AL, daughter of the late Van Henry Langley and Lorene Adcock Langley. She was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square. Mrs. Mangram taught Sunday School Class for 5 year olds for many years at Western Heights Baptist Church. She was employed with Mansour’s Department Store, Ladies Department, for many years and later was employed with Smith Hillside Pharmacy for 25 years before retiring. Mrs. Mangram was a pink lady volunteer at the City/County Hospital (West Georgia Medical Center) for many years.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Mangram; two daughters, Elaine Yancey (Jerry) and Joy Sherrer (Chuck); five grandchildren, Mary Anna Wilson (Robert), Libby Corbitt (Jody), James Yancey, Jeremy Sherrer, and Grant Sherrer; four great grandchildren, Tanner and Nate Wilson and Kade and Cam Corbitt.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Bobby Robinson and Dr. Paul Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at the home of her husband, J.W. Mangram, and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
