Mary was born December 30, 1951 in Hogansville, GA, daughter of Lillie Annette Kelley White and the late John Clayton White. She was a graduate of Troup High School Class of 1970. Mary worked in several venues throughout her working career, but her toughest and proudest achievement was raising her two boys as a single mom. She was a charter member of Independent Church of Worship and loved listening to gospel music. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Lillie Annette White; sons, Joseph Keith (Tabitha) Bailey and Jerry E. (Carla) Scarborough; grandchildren, Alexander Keith “Alex” Bailey, Allison Paige “Allie” Bailey, Joseph Clayton “Clay” Scarborough; Priscilla Lynn “Cilla” Scarborough and Seth Alan Walker; sister, Lillie (Ronnie) Fuller; several cousins, a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of family and friends will be from 2:30pm until 4:00pm Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. The Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00pm Sunday, September 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Pastor Jerry Scarborough and Rev. Lillie Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
