It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marlene Ann Cato, who passed away on Friday, November 29th at the age of 77.
Born on November 11th, in Lewiston, Maine where she grew up with her sisters Sandra, Linda, twin Charlene, and baby brother Guy. After meeting her Navy Airman husband, she moved to LaGrange, Georgia where she spent most of her life. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Thomas H. Cato, a devoted mother to her children Cody and Tracy, and the best Nana to her granddaughters, Ashley and Taylor.
She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars- Ladies Auxiliary, where she and her husband enjoyed many years of love, laughter, and support.
Marlene had a talent for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings. She enjoyed reading books, solving crossword puzzles, and building puzzles in her free time.
Marlene will be forever known for her small stature but her mighty strength, her hard-working ethics, and her quiet manner with a laugh that could be heard across a room.
She is survived by her son Cody Cato and wife Jennifer, daughter Tracy Bowden, husband Robert and daughters Ashley and Taylor, Beloved sister-in-law Myra Wyatt and her loving family, sister Sandra Chadwick, husband Ron and their loving family, sister Linda Sims, husband John and their loving family, sister Charlene Ouellette and her loving family, brother Guy Johnson, wife Niki and their loving family.
She will forever be in our hearts and memories.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be at Striffler Hamby Mortuary on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 10:00am until the 11:00am Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Jerry Scarborough officiating.
