Lee Wood, Jr.

Mr. Wood was born April 18, 1928 in Anniston, AL to the late Lee Wood, Sr. and Eugina Guthrie Wood. He was a member of First Assembly of God and proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from the United States Coast Guard. After retirement, he was a self-employed truck driver and also worked with Lukken Chevorlet. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Marthalene B. Wood of LaGrange; son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Linda Wood of LaGrange; daughter and son-in-law, Greg and Terrie Darden of Collierville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Daryl and Cathy Clinton of Commerce, GA; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Wood, Erin Darden, Morgan Darden, Whitney Coppinger, Calli Smith, Jason Walters, Jonathan Walters and their spouses; two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. The Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, July 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Dr. C. Gregory Darden officiating. Entombment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
