Dr. John W. Goddard, Jr.

Dr. Goddard was born November 14, 1945 in Harriman, TN, son of the late John William Goddard, Sr. and Beatrice Williams Goddard. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and served as the Dean of West Georgia Technical College before retiring. Dr. Goddard was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lee “Jo” Orange Goddard.

Survivors include his son, Shayne Goddard and his wife, Sonya Goddard, of LaGrange; daughter, Buffie Goddard and her husband, Bill Webb, of Thompson Station, TN; grandchildren, Parker Webb, Sydney Goddard, and Meaghan Goddard; sister, Thelma Frazier of Melborne, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Benjie Dukes and Reverend David Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of Dr. John W. Goddard, Jr., 114 Mallory Drive, LaGrange, GA 30241.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home, Pineland/Camp Pioneer, P.O. Box 2907, LaGrange, GA 30241 in memory of Dr. John W. Goddard, Jr.
