Mr. Yarbrough was born April 15, 1929 in Lamar, AL, son of the late Robert Toombs Yarbrough and Mary Bertha Gross Yarbrough. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Woodland, AL and proudly served his country for 30 years in the Merchant Marines and 2 years in the U.S Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Joyce Lamb Yarbrough, brother and sister-n-law, Robert T. (Laura) Yarbrough.
Survivors include his companion for the past 6 years, Helen Cash; two brothers, John H. Yarbrough and his wife Mary Jim Yarbrough and William T. Yarbrough and his wife Joann Yarbrough; nieces and nephews, Keith (Esther) Yarbrough, Mark Yarbrough, John H. (Sharon) Yarbrough Jr., Mary Lynn (Eric) Fenton, William T. Yarbrough Jr., and Dana (David) Henson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2019 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA with Minister Jerry Scarborough officiating. The gathering of family and friends will be on Monday from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The burial will be at 3:30 P.M. (EST) at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodland, AL.
