James “Jake” Ponder of LaGrange, GA passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Jake was born October 8, 1994 in LaGrange, GA to James “Jim” Edward Ponder and Mary Jo Webb. He was a 2013 graduate of Troup County High School. He work at the “Body Shop” in LaGrange doing what he loved, repairing and restoring vehicles. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather; James “Pop Pop” Julius Bagley.

Jake leaves behind his mother; Mary Jo Webb and her companion, Tony Brisco; fiancée, Shayla Ann Hill; daughter, Jerzyee Nashay Ponder; son, Kayden Jayce Ponder; and close friend Chad Smith.

A celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2018 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Following the service, the burial will be held at Gray Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in West Point GA. The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
