Mr. Loveless was born December 25, 1936 in Frankfort, IN, to Earl Howard Loveless and Freda Badgley Loveless.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Gwendolyn Kay Reeves Loveless; son, Joel Loveless of Milton, GA., Daughters, Lori (Chad) Loveless McIntyre of Kennesaw, GA. and Dara Loveless Wooten of LaGrange, GA.; brother, Earl Dion Loveless of Pensacola, FL.; sister, Frederica Loveless of Truth or Consequences, NM and Jessica Loveless Shannon of Frankfort, IN.; grandchildren, Kari Jennings Lowery of LaGrange, GA., Bryan McIntyre of Kennesaw, GA., Kortney Jennings of LaGrange, GA., Mallorie McIntyre Wynne of Macon, GA. and Kole Jennings of LaGrange, GA. and four great-granddaughters along with several nieces and nephews.
Born to Earl and Freda Loveless in 1936 in Frankfort IN., he was the oldest of 4 children. Graden graduated from Frankfort High School in 1954 and then attended DePauw University where he was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity and the school swim team. Enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1957, he began flight training in Pensacola FL where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and then received his wings in 1960. A few short weeks later, he married his sweetheart and they moved to California to begin his aviation career.
Graden faithfully his served is country in Vietnam as a member of the First Marine Air Wing during 1967-68 and 1971-72 flying the Lockheed C-130.
He retired in 1977 after 20 years of dedicated service and they moved to LaGrange to begin his second career with Equitable Insurance Agency.
He enjoyed active living on West Point Lake and was an avid golfer earning multiple Sr. Championships at The Fields golf club. He served in the Civil Air Patrol up until he was forced to hang up his wings. The Kiwanis Club and Marine Corps League were his ways to give back to his community and his country. Pancake breakfasts and Toys for Tots were 2 of his favorite events.
His last few years were spent being “semper fi” (always faithful) caring for his loving wife of 62 years.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M Monday, September 19, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in LaGrange, GA. The Gathering of Family and Friends will take place Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the LaGrange Kiwanis Club, or Lagrange Marine Corps League/detachment 1040-Toys for Tots
