Mrs. Ward was born July 31, 1940 in Wedowee, AL, daughter of the late Bob Mitchell and Dessie Rogers Mitchell. She had lived in LaGrange for the past 39 years and received the Troup County Mother Of The Year Award in 1982.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James F. Ward, Jr.; 8 children, James F. Ward, III, David (Amy) Ward, Kenneth Ward, Robert Ward, Timothy (Whitney) Ward, Cynthia (Bubba) Walston, Sandra (Bill) Griffin, and John (Misty Jo) Ward; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, November 16, 2015 at Long Cane Baptist Church with Reverend Leonard Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be on Monday from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Long Cane Baptist Church.
