Eddie was born in LaGrange, GA on January 23, 1940 to the late Edward Dewey Brookshire Sr. and Lena Elizabeth Bryant Brookshire. He was a lifelong member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and a member of the Optimist Club. Eddie proudly served his country in the United States Army and was the Service Manager of Westbrook Service and Tire Company. His hobbies include Tractors and Woodworking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Stelle” Tarrence Brookshire and one brother, Bobby Brookshire.
Survivors include his son, Greg (Susan) Brookshire; daughter, Beth (Stacy) Brown; grandchildren, Nathan (Belinda) Brookshire, Cheri (Gage) Rife, Kaylen (Gage) Scarborough, McKenzie (Cameron) Tyssen; great grandchildren, Peyton, Bentley, Brooklyn and baby Brookshire aka “Peanut”; two sisters, Susan Ussery and Sara Brookshire; several other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Randy Nix officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hillview Annex Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Hillcrest United Methodist Church or West Georgia Hospice in memory of Eddie Brookshire.
