C. P. Towler

Mr. Towler was born May 15, 1926 in Rock Mills, AL, son of the late William J. Towler and Emma Ruth Breed Towler. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Towler worked for many years as a Parts Manager at several local automotive dealerships and retired from Troup County. He was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Katherine Bailey Towler; a daughter, Becky and Larry Mitchell; two sons, Ron and Reba Towler and Randy and Lisa Towler; grandchildren, Chris Mitchell, April Elliott, Todd Mitchell, Kadi Towler, and Megan Rader; all of LaGrange; sisters, Patricia and Jasper Bowen of Woodland, AL and Beatrice Towler of Rock Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with Rev. Greg Brown and Michael Spradlin officiating. A private burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday and immediately following the service.

Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the Growth Fund at Western Heights Baptist Church in memory of C. P. Towler.
