Mr. Kiser was born February 1, 1925 in Buskirk, KY to the late Willie E. Kiser and Nora Mae Pennington Kiser. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army, in the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II, as a Paratrooper. Before owning and operating Kiser Appliance, Mr. Kiser worked for Frigidaire and Linch’s. He was a member of the Moose Club, enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, playing pool and cards. Mr. Kiser was a sports enthusiast, with a love for trucks and El Caminos. He never met a stranger and will be remembered for his jokes and love of his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Florene Kiser; seven siblings, two children, one granddaughter, one great grandchild, and one step daughter.
Survivors include his wife, Vonceil N. Kiser; daughters, Dannette (Calvin) Johnson and Suzanne (Frank) Sanders, both of LaGrange, GA; son, Billy (Denise) Kiser Jr., of Ohatchee, AL; stepchildren, Jimmy (Susan) Harris, Mike (Carol) Harris, and Debbie Merrill (Andy Jackson); grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Lanier, Casey (Cindy) Lanier, Carey (Melissa) Lanier, Gus (Mollie) Callaway, Allison (Jon) McCay, Michael Kiser, David (Ashley) Kiser, Corrina (Vann) Cocke, Wayne Kiser, Keith (Heather) Johnson, Kim Sanders, Kevin Scott, Casey (Daphne) Merrill, Renee (Troy) Taylor, Stephanie Shorter, Jim (Jamie) Harris, John (Angie) Harris, Jennifer (Bob) Honeycutt, Christy Garner-Scott, Catherine Mann; 45 great grandchildren; siblings, June Sisk and Donald Kiser, both of MS; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of family and friends will be 10:00am until 11:00am prior to the service at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. A Memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, August 11, 2018 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Pastor Cade Farris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Georgia Hospice or the charity of choice in memory of Billy F. Kiser, Sr.
