Betty C. Phillips

Mrs. Phillips was born December 17, 1930 to Wiley Bart and Annie Lou Cummings. Twenty years later, she married her one true love, Shepperd H Phillips Jr., and from then embarked on a 65-year marriage that revolved around family, faith, military and community service. She was a devoted member of Dallas-Dodd Presbyterian Church. She lived a life of service and giving with her favorites being Interfaith Food Closet as well as her infamous Christmas platters.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband Shepperd Hardy Phillips Jr., son Shepperd Hardy Phillips III, and Charlie Gordon Cummins.

She is survived by her beloved children, Bart Phillips, Emily Phillips Johnson, Betsy Phillips (Jeff) Batts, Cathy Phillips; her grandchildren, Ginger (Brian) Kraft, Amy (Dre) Bethea, Toby (Clint) Goss, Shepperd (Tiffany) Phillips IV, Christy Johnson (Nick Neary), Lindsay (Ryan) Warren, Ashley (Morgan) Moss; and 11 great grandchildren.

The gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, March 21 from 10am-11am. The Funeral Service will be 11am Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Orin Sampson officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dallas-Dodd Presbyterian Church, 1244 Wares Cross Road, LaGrange, GA 30240, in memory of Betty C. Phillips.
